Skjoldabu

Welcome to Skjoldabu! Idyllic sauna in the heart of Skjold.

Price NOK 110 per hour per person.

Here's how it works:

  • You will receive an email with a one-time code for the key box 1 hour before your booking takes effect. Remember to check your junk mail if you can't find it.
  • The sauna is cold when you arrive (unless someone has used it right before you). Therefore, put it on before changing and showering.
  • It takes about 12 minutes to get to 60c - when the elements in the oven are glowing well, you can start pouring water if you want to bring it up to temperature faster. The sauna holds a maximum of 110c.
  • If you want to swim in the sea, you will find a bathing ladder right outside and a beach at the start of the hiking trail (to the south)
  • The shower head for the outdoor shower hangs inside the door, you can connect this to the outdoor tap if you want.
  • Remember to set aside time for changing and washing up.
  • Turn off the oven, close the door inside and lock the outer door if no one else is waiting.
  • Remember to close the key box. (You have received the code by e-mail)

Have fun!

NB: Do you need help? Call the duty officer. The telephone list can be found on the wall inside Skjoldabu

Rules of use

  • Only fresh water should be used on the oven - anything else will destroy the oven (two ladles is a suitable dosage when you want a little steam in the room)

  • Make sure there are always at least two people in the sauna, and make sure someone accompanies you if you are going to bathe, bathing is at your own risk
  • If you feel dizzy, have palpitations or other discomfort; Leave the sauna
  • Take your rubbish with you and leave the sauna as you wish to find it; Clean and tidy, washing equipment is in the shower
  • Everyone who books time in the sauna is responsible for ensuring that they are healthy enough to take a sauna, children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult
  • Do not fire so that the temperature in the sauna exceeds 100 degrees (for the best health effect it should be between 80 and 100 degrees)

  •  Drinking bottle with water in it.
  • Two towels: one to sit on and one to dry yourself with.
  • Warm socks and clothes that are easy to put on after a bath

Skjoldabu is part of a larger activity and well-being initiative at Vikaneset. It is owned by Skjold Bygdalag, to the delight of all who live here - and those who may come to visit.

We want to make sure that this area can be used by everyone. We are now in an initial phase to find out how we can best operate this building in a sustainable and user-friendly way.

We therefore appreciate it if you help us with feedback on the experience, tips or tricks or anything else we can take with us further. You can send a message to iSkjold on Facebook or Instagram, or you can contact Therese Nesheim 97605459.
