COMMANDER'S HOUSE
The building was restored externally in 2020 and slightly refurbished internally. The commandant's residence consists of a hallway with a cloakroom, 3 rooms and a small kitchen, as well as a toilet. Access to the premises is via a staircase and is not adapted for people with reduced mobility. The kitchen contains a stove, refrigerator, dishwasher. There is a barrel gill in the outdoor area.

BARRACKS/FIREPLACE ROOM
The building is separate from the Commander's Residence. Here there is a large room with a fireplace and access to firewood for an additional cost. Three large long tables with 2 benches for each table. Seating for 8-10 people at each table. Space for 24-30 people. Panel heaters. No WC.

HISTORICAL BACKGROUND
Urskog Fort, also referred to as Dingsrud Fort, is a demolished barrier fort at Lierfoss in Aurskog-Høland municipality. As part of the peace agreement at the dissolution of the union in 1905, (the Karlstad Settlement), the fort was demolished. The commandant's residence with outbuildings and the barracks remained and are still well preserved today. Parts of the wall systems and trenches were excavated again in the 1980s. The fort is widely used as a learning arena and as a tourist destination for visitors and locals.

There is the possibility of a guided tour by appointment.

TOILET
Inside the Commander's Residence there is one water closet. In the outdoor area there is an older outdoor toilet that is available to everyone who visits the area.

ACCESS
You can drive all the way up to the fort where there is a parking lot with space for 20-30 cars. Please adjust your speed to take into account the farmyards that you pass on the way up. Buses can also drive up to the fort. Here, the parking lot can be used as a turning space if there are no cars parked in the area.

Directions: The historical site is located between Aurskog and Bjørkelangen. From rv. 170, follow the signs to Urskog fort, turn right up Dingsrudveien. Adjust your speed through the farmyard and to the right. Steep climb. The parking lot is located in the immediate vicinity of the fort. From rv. 170, a total of approximately 2.7 km. Address: Urskog fort, Dingsrudveien 105, 1930 Aurskog.

NOTE
Urskog Fort is an open-air museum that is open to the public all year round. The tenant must be aware that other visitors will be visiting the area. The Commander's Residence and the Barracks are rented to one tenant at a time.

Parts of the area are not adapted for people with disabilities, but gravel paths provide some accessibility.

The premises are older and bear some signs of this. The rent does not include professional cleaning. At the end of the rental period, the tenant must ensure simple cleaning of the floors and surfaces. See rental agreement for further details.
