About:

Welcome to our little wooden sauna by the fjord. The sauna is located in a cute little village, called Bakka, right in the middle of the UNESCO world heritage site by Nærøyfjord. It is a 50 minute drive from Voss and only a 25 minute drive from Flåm. Directly outside the sauna door you can jump into the fjord for a refreshing dip. Our little barrel sauna has a panoramic window, so that you can enjoy the incredible views while you're getting warm and cosy.

The famous hikes Bakkanosi and Rimstigen start right around the corner from the sauna. What better way to end a day of hiking than a relaxing sauna session? Or you might want to visit us on an early summer morning, while your campervan is parked at some of the beautiful campsites nearby. Another idea is to visit us after your kayak tour on the fjord. To be honest, you never need an excuse to book a sauna session with us. We promise a memorable experience for all occasions. We also recommend visiting during winter time, to get the unique arctic experience.

How does it work?

Our sauna has a maximum of 8 drop in slots. If you want to make sure you have the sauna to yourself, you can book a private session. We allow a maximum of 10 people for the private session.

When making a booking, you will receive a code that you can use to open the padlock on the door. We will make sure the sauna is warm when you arrive, so that you can start your experience right away. You are welcome to drive all the way up to the sauna, there is a parking lot there for you. The sauna has a small changing room, but no shower.

Our sauna operates under a simple and affordable self-service model. It relies on your cooperation to operate smoothly. Please do not disturb other guests outside of your booked time, and leave the sauna clean and locked when you are finished.

Please keep in mind that we share the beautiful village of Bakka with other tourists, businesses and residents. Show respect by obeying local parking rules, taking your trash with you, keeping noise to a minimum and avoiding the campsite bathrooms and property if you are not a guest.

  • We would appreciate it if you leave the sauna clean and tidy. Also, please close the glass door.
